Hi, my name's Troy(aka Bronco). I started skiing when I was 13 and have loved being on the snow ever since. I've skiied/snowboarded in SoCal, Mammoth, Tahoe, Las Vegas, All of NC, and Snowshoe. Decided to try snowboarding 5 years ago when my son wanted to try it out for his birthday. I really enjoy boarding, but thinking of getting back into skiing on a part time basis. I have made some really good friendships being on here and now have people to make turns with and go on trips together.

thomas here, aka carvebeast. ive been a skinc member since fall 08 but ive been lurking since long before that (i guess that makes me personally somewhat of a veteran around here, but no one really seemed to know who i was until i showed them i liked to act a fool on a snowboard) in all seriousness though, ive met quite a few members the last few years on the slopes and everyone is super down to earth and fun to talk to; this has definitely become my favorite forum on the interwebzzz so if you're new just jump in and go for it and i'm sure you too will become addicted! try and avoid making your first post about terrain parks, sugar lying about snow depths/prices/lift speed, your place of origin (if it is in fact florida), or admitting that you are pro-prohibition and you'll be fine second post, all bets are off: call out anyone you want.

anyways, on to this snowboarding thing. i started in high school going sporadically and really just enjoyed linking turns and getting a little air here and there, but was pretty serious about a potential pro soccer career at the time. i got a fair few college offers when the time came, but not to the schools i wanted so i made a tough decision and quit playing in order to go to the school i wanted for academics. went to State and got involved with their club ultimate frisbee team, now i play for one of the top club teams in the country (not that that means anything to you guys haha) and travel all over to play in major tournaments. winter was always my offseason so i started getting more serious about snowboarding and trying to really improve and now i ride everything and anything you put in front of me. i love park and pow and if i have to(and i do b/c it's nc) i'll sack up and just bomb groomers all day as well. graduated in 09 from state and work in real estate, engaged to the love of my life and getting married in May(just gotta get her on the slopes!!), also love to surf and am always looking for buddies to road trip up and down the coast with! i am extremely blessed and life is good.

Hi all...I'm SafeTmanEd! Of course, my name is Ed and I'm a Safety Engineer!! I ski mostly at Gatlinburg and Cat but I try to make several trips to Boone during the year and at least one to winterplace. I also ski perfect north slopes just outside of cincinnati several times a year since we are from there and have family to visit. We have been to every snowshoe summitt too, something I hope we can continue! #1 son is a boarder who jumps anything that will stand for it, #2 son likes the snowblades, #3 son is a very good skier...and then there is me!! I wear a black smith helmet with a skisoutheast sticker. Say hey if you see me.

Welcome new members.
I’m Tazz, I’ve been skiing for around 15 years now, with a few years of snowboarding thrown in. I ski App and Sugar mostly and it’s probably been at least 10 years since I’ve skied in the day time, I love night skiing.
As for my time on skinc, I’ve been around here in some form since 2001/02, after lurking for years I finally joined. While I prefer to retain my anonymity on the internet, I have consequently not had the pleasure of developing the friendships that many have. Even so, I have found SKINC to contain a wealth of knowledgeable folks, awesome photography, and often good for a laugh.

Hi, I'm Ski Bunny, also known as Debra. I'm a third grade teacher in Columbia, SC and an avid Gamecoc k s fan. I learned to ski at Hawksnest a lot of years ago. I make as many trips as possible to the NC mountains and mostly ski at Beech. I have also skied at Winterplace a few times. I go on at least one western ski trip every winter. I used to ski mostly in Colorado at Vail and Beaver Creek because I had connections there. Then I ventured out and started skiing at Aspen, Snowmass, Breckenridge, and Steamboat before discovering Lake Tahoe. For the past few years, I have mainly skied Tahoe. Can't beat the scenery! During the summer, you can find me on Lake Murray being a lake rat and enjoying water sports. On fall weekends, you'll find me at USC football games. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling. I've traveled to 38 states in the USA as well as serveral countries in Europe and Asia. Looking forward to seeing some of you at the summit next weekend!

Hi, I'm Michael and I have been on the board for several years and have been to most of the summits. I love to ski and posting here on the messageboard. I think I spend more time here on the board then I do on the snow & I know that's gotta change but I think I have an internet addiction. I don't have any good pictures of me skiing cause I'm always skiing alone and I don't have anybody to take the picture (lol) so if you see me out there please feel free to take a picture and post it here so others know who I am. In the meantime, I'm real easy to spot (see sig below). If you see me out there please say hi and be my friend on facebook if you want

Hiya, i'm christa and i tend to be on the shy side and was at the beech summit in 09, so i met a few of you then. I have been snowboarding on a regular basis for about 6 years now, and skied before that. I like to go fast on the slopes and do not really do much park stuff. I have always been a fan of cold weather, snow and the mountains over the beach...being a ginger the sun isn't always kind to me.

Other than hitting the slopes, other interests of mine include sewing, needlepoint, power tools, furniture design, architecture, museums, beer, gin + tonics, live music and the green bay packers. I studied interior architecture at UNC Greensboro and graduated back in 05.

Anyways, i usually hit the slopes during the week at night, not unless I am "sick" and need a mental health day. I am usually rocking a bright lime green coat, dark gray pants, white helmet and pink goggles.

Hi. My name is Zeus, but you can call me "Your Majesty."

I like long walks on the beach, softcore porn, and amphetamines.

If I had to describe myself in 3 words they would be "I suck at math."

Oh yeah, I ski too.

My name's Ken, I've been a member here for a year or two. Started snowboarding on a whim; girlfriend's (we're engaged now) parents were getting divorced and she was bummed so I packed up the car and headed for Snowshoe. NIGHTMARE trip. I grew up in FL, went to school at FSU and saw snow for the first time on that SS trip. And by snow I mean blizzard, whiteout with unplowed roads. Not a good time to see snow for the first time We didn't have an instructor, so we were yelling at each other within 30 minutes and ended up leaving after an hour on the snow. A few weeks later I won my first snowboard online, bought the rest of my gear and off we were. I've met a few members here, mostly from carpooling trips with total strangers hehehe.

I'm on the right, Kim is in the middle and twin brother Chris is on the left. He's still a Florida boy, but he's coming up to Beech for a week to learn to board some more.

Spydee here, but real name is Tom. Live in Fairmont, WV so I'm one of the "northern" members of the board. I post from time to time but visit regularly. I ski mostly Wisp, Shoe and 7Springs, but make trips to VT (Stowe and Sugarbush) and Vail every year. I'm a regular on Wed eve at Wisp ($15 for 5-9pm!) but would meet up with anyone interested going there anytime. I have a great wife (doesn't ski or snowboard though) and two sons that snowboard.

Despite living 2 hrs away, I haven't made the Shoe summit yet because there's always been a conflict with other ski or business trips.

Hi, I'm Doug and I'm an Alcho... Oh wait, wrong board.

I mostly lurk with the occasional post. I've meet a few of the folks from the ATL area that are on these boards as we've carpooled up to the NC ski areas. Also got to ski with the great EastCoaster at the Shoe in '09.

I've been skiing since I was 14yrs old. Used to live in Kansas (Military family) and would take a trip or two each season to Winter Park, Breckenridge, Vail, Keystone, or A Basin. After a few years or doing that, we moved PA. I spent 4+ years skiing all the ski resorts in PA and VT. Moved to back to GA in my early 20s and just started skiing again in 2008.

When I'm not skiing, I love to wakeboard and wakesurf in the spring and summer. Fall is all about Georgia football (and mix in some Falcons as well). Actually I enjoy all sports, esp when I can make it to the games. I also take at least one or two cruises per year.

Here are some shots of me...
