With most resorts closing Sunday we'd be treated to a mid-April snow storm. Forecasts weren't super high compared to the same storm totals as it passed through Tahoe, but it would be a great season ender for many resorts.
We left at 7am and got our hopes up passing through the west side of town. The foothills were white!
In the LL parking lot and it was snowing heavily.
The base area.
Lots of accumulation, LL reported 6" overnight but it was definitely more than that.
Lots of small stashes.
You can see the 5" or so of fresh snow on top of icy hardpack here.
Kim got stuck. This was her first ever powder day.
Looking back up.
It wasn't steep enough right here to get some nice powder shots, but it was still nice. Ignore the dork at the end hahaha.
We skied mostly ungroomed blue runs all day. I don't know if the runs are easier at LL or we're just getting better, but we had an awesome time. We only rode chair 2 up twice. The 2nd run was pretty crusty so we called it a day, but the first run was tons of fun.
