What a great way to end the work week! It’s another gorgeous morning across the region and after the last two mornings it is a welcome sight. This morning is just a continuation of some fantastic weather that we saw yesterday. Once the early morning clouds moved out, things cleared up nicely and it was a bluebird day with mild-ish temps. I was driving around with my sunroof open and my windows down yesterday. That’s actually the second time this week I've been able... click here for more

What a gloomy morning it is! I am not a fan of grey skies and light drizzle when I am driving into work in the morning. Every ski area has seen a little bit of underdeveloped snow in the past 18 hours or so. I’m looking at the weather stations right now, and the totals looks to be in the quarter to three quarters of an inch range. That’s not terrible but it’s not good either.

Seldom am I surprised anymore. Those of us who call the High Country home are used to an abundance of unique, eclectic - not to mention delectable dining establishments. However, it isn't every day that you can say that you had one of the more memorable and delicious meals in an old farmhouse that is more than 150 years old.

That is now available to visitors and locals alike - in pristine, peaceful Valle Crucis, North Carolina. Alison Garrett, who has long been a realtor in the region, and Steve, who is a pilot for FedEx, set out on a venture that is now delivering a unique dining experience in the area.
